Working there is really tough...
E shift work + long hours of work and travelling time + forever uncompleted things to do..
E blue-black i have on my knee....
E backache I have everyday..
Simply explain everything...
Even my hp is spoilt... because the trolley bang on to me...
And I couldnt take it...
I couldnt cope with it...
How I wish... I could end everything now...
But I still have to bare with it...

I have never and ever have a good rest till tdy...
Omg.. Working there is really a challenge to me..
The challenge of working shift.. especially when i need to wake up at 4.30am
The 1 hour traveling time daily.. Really kills me...
And I still need to manage and supervise people who are older than me and have more experience working there as compared to me.. omg
The working environment there is really stressful..
And it seems there there is no one there to teach me..
Just throw me the notes and expect me to know everything..
Omg.. I only attended 2 dietician talks last week.. And my nutrition really sux..
How could I know everything???
Stress.. I am still trying to cope with the work there...

OMG...
She called me and asked me to work for the sail again for 1 week...
But I am afraid that the sgh might call me to go work anytime...
So I called search network to check with them when I am suppose to start work...
And they told me tt I have already cleared the medical checkup..
They are also waiting for the HR to reply.. As the HR are rather busy now..
They will inform me when to start work again.. And say most probably next week..
So I rejected the job offer.. sian..

First day of work as customer service office..
The job is quite relaxing..
Just need to ask the vistor to record, handle access card, parcel and etc..
But sometimes I think my english was so bad that i couldnt understand what the ang mo is trying to say...
Anyway, the working environment is very good..
Alot of ang mo staying at the apartment there..
If one day, I am rich I will also go buy one apartment there.. haha
The scenery is super nice there and there was alot of facilities there..
Haha.. Ytd a ang mo treat me and venessa for dinner..
he ordered so much.. cant even finish the food.. haha..
I enjoyed working there...
But one thing i dont like is that it is super bored working there...
Cause I simply have nothing much to do when is around 9 to 11pm..
No wonder they allow us to bring laptop to work there...
Haha.. think i will just bring some magazine to read there..
better than facing the wall and bored die me..
think that the security guard also cant stand me..
cause i keep chatting with them..

cheris called me and told me tt ***** asked us to work tdy..

It sld be some miscommunication btw the consultant and the client..

at least they can inform us earlier, right??

OMG.. the doctor was not in the clinic again..
the doct really got attitude problem ..
even though i have book the appointment at 7pm...
they have called me and remind me of my appointment..
and yet when i went there, the doctor was not in..
really have a very bad experience in the clinic..
Well, the clinic is always "open" but doctor not in..
I waited around 1hr... for doct to come.. and have my injection..
think that i will start working at sgh on may..
hope tt everything will be fine there...

anyway, I was so happy to receive the call from daisy tdy..
haha.. daisy is soo good to me =P Intro me a temp job for 4 days..
going to work from mon to thurs at city hall there..
from 3pm to 11pm.. to replace someone on medical leave.. haha..
daisy also told me tt they still need people for singtel this week..
if possible, I really hope to work for singtel again with cheris on sat and sun.. =P

went for the medical checkup on fri..
I waited super long for the blood test..
from morning till around 4pm...
all just because I never book appointment..
zzz.. I dont understand why there wasnt a doctor in the clinic when it was "open"...
zzz.. even the xray also ask me go sata.. OMG.. i might as well go sata for the medi checkup... worst still, I need to go back to the clinic on wed night for a injection... damn angry with my agency*

somemore it is quite a good start for my career in food industry... and is a + point in my resume.. with exp in supervisory position.. and the salary is still ok for a fresh diploma grad... I think i will regret if i give up this chance... Cause it is damn hard to find a job nowadays.

But at a second thought.. I feel like studying... A diploma in food science cant get me to anywhere... Seriously speaking... How much can a diploma in food science grad earn???? even with a degree in food science, u cant earn much.... I dont want stuck at the pay of 1.Xk per month forever.... A lab tech at most can earn is >3k... even if u are being promoted to senior lab tech and do 12 hr shift work...
Sometimes, I dont understand... Life is simply so unfair..

Haiz.. I need to decide soon... whether I should accept it or give up the chance... whether I wanna study or work.. or work and study part time.. Btw, I was accepted by curtin singapore also with 4 module exemption...

yay!! It is my last day of attachment in pr lab =)

This is the place where i weigh all those fruits and vegetables daily..

where i cried daily.. as i cant stand the smell of spring onion, chilli, garlic...

I guess i will miss this place the most...

lol.. as there is vistor coming on wed.. they have arrange those product that they tested nicely..

I like to do cocoa product testing the most.. =) especially when doing the extraction for Organophosphorous as well as for the extraction method using gel permeation chromatography..

It simply smells nice.. And make me have the craving of eat chocolate especially when i was doing the testing for cocoa products..

It was 100% better than doing the extraction method for belachan..

I dont like the smell of belachan.. smell weird..

ok.. bottles and bottles of reservoir /river water tt i have tested on.. lols..

This includes doing of CS2 as well as the OP/OC/PY methods.. lols.. seriously.. i dont like to do testing for water sample.. cause... the separating funnel is damn heavy.. and i nid to use the 1L seperating funnel with 800 ml of water sample added inside.. my hand will be damn 'suan' to shake all those funnel especially when there is alot of water sample. Furthermore, the addition of dicholoromethane will accumulate alot of gas inside the funnel when shaked.. thus, i nid to release the gas alot of time..

usually, the PR lab is damn quiet.. only the printing sound of the machine...

Look at how many machine there are..

the gc machine tt i have been using for the past 9 weeks..

I have been operating the HP 6890C and HP series2 5890 gc machine daily..

From changing of liner, glass spectum, preparing standard.. solvent and etc..

all i did it myself.. they juz put me totally in charge of this two machine and cant be bother abt me =(

Lucky this two machine didnt give me alot of problems... lols..

I was happy to prepare the standard and obtain a very good curve.. ^^ simply by following the manual.. lols.. they asked ' why u first time prepare standard and recovery, then the result is so good ar?' =P

ok.. as i mentioned in earlier post.. the pr is also the national pesticides residues centre in singapore.. So there was a room with alot of books related to pesticides..

It's another long and tiring day~~
First week in PR lab... sianz..
the SP guy took 2 day off day.. Ytd is his last day..
This means that I am alone in the lab today..
haiz.. being the only attachment student in the lab, I was asked to do all those stuff alone..
I am still trying to learn how to operate GC machine..
I feel sux in operating GC/LC and GPC machine.. I feel as though I am a engineerer.. lols
Well, i NEVER learn how to operate that kind of machine in sch before.. not just press start...
still nid to do calibration.. And also nid to change the linear using all those screw driver and etc. I simply dont like to operate those equipment. lols..
my theory is totally sux. zzz.. I really regreted that I nv study hard for my analytical method...
although i managed to get a B in the end..
But it seems that I have forgotten all those stuff that i have learned in sch..
perhaps, I dont have a very strong foundation in chemistry..
I dont understand those theory they explained to me.. the column, the injector, the detector such as flame ionization detector (FID), thermal conductivity detector (TCD or hot wire detector), electron capture detector (ECD), photoionization detector (PID), flame photometric detector (FPD) and all those..
I am totally blur.. lols.. until now then I know how to see the retention time for GC.
I AM WORRIED about the test that I need to take 2 week later..
I cant imagine that my superviser is going to test me on all those basic theory test like CS2..
zzz.. I am going to fail for sure..
Basically, i nid to operate the GC machine everyday so as to determine the dithiocarbamate fungicides as carbon disulphide in vegetables and fruits.
Every morning, i need to do sampling..
weight vegetables, fruits, etc.. I just simply hate to weigh chilli.. lol..
the smell of chilli, make me feel like coughing.. lols..
To run the CS2 test, 2,2,4 trimethyl pentane and acid added.
Then, it was placed in the water bath and cool
After that the 2,2,4-trimethyl pentane layer was extracted.. lol..

I was on my way to work this morning..
When i was going to alight at cck, my train suddenly break and stopped.
Some people in the platform screamed.
well, I saw some blood outside e train..
I was told by someone tt e train knock and hit on someone..
and they annouched that due to some incident the train will be delayed.. zzz
damn scary.. I was stuck inside the train..
all of us wasnt very sure what have happen.
I reach cck already.. but the door didnt open.. I cant alight. lols
I started to feel scared.. cause I am going to late for work..
if i miss my company bus, I will nid to cab all the way there...
And there will surely be massive traffic jam due to the train services from JE to yew tee unavailable.. zzz
I dont wanna be late.. especially on my first day of work at the national pesticides centre in singapore..
It wasnt very good to be late on the first day.. zzz
lucky they open the door of the train manual one by one..
I heard e arrival of ambulance and a annoucement tt the train service will be unavailable for 55min.. I was damn lucky tt i board this train.. cause if i took e next train i will be stuck inside.
well, I was rushing all e way ... as i still nid to walk some distance to the pick up point of company bus..
Lucky, the bus driver waited longer.. if not, i gotta miss tt bus..

last day of work in the micro lab..
my superviser dun wan to assign me any station this week...
since boss wanted me to help on doing a project on antibiotics..
haha.. so my superviser allows me to go any station tt i wanted to learn..
Although everyday i am sort of 'free and easy'.. but i will still try to find different things for me to do. In this way, i learned more different things everyday.. more different kinds of microbiolgoical testing for pathogen. and antibiotics such as vancomycin which is one of the strongest antibiotics. running all around the lab.. from oyster sampling, sampling room, the general lab, the pathogen lab, media room to virology lab.
Despite my stay in the micro department is short. but this few weeks i have really learn alot..
all of them are willing to teach me..
at least i have learn most of the stuff in the lab..
from S auaeus, vibrio, listeria, campy, Shigella, Ecoli and others organism testing..
Although the pathogen is damn smelly.. but i am happy working there with 4 other attachment students... it have been fun there. lols..
well, the whole micro lab went out to eat lunch together.
lol.. we went out to eat lunch at 12 pm..
initially, we went sungei buloh natural reserve there as we intend to eat our lunch there..
but the menu dont seems to be appealing. lols.. so they decided to bring us to go other place to eat. lols. they drove us to the kranji country club nearby to eat lunch.. quite ps.. let them treat us.. since today is my last day of attachment in the micro lab.. and the sp and nus student is leaving one after another.. sad..
sad that i am leaving.. going to pesticides residues department all alone..
I will be the one and only attachment student in tt department..
I afraid.. cause i am not good in chemistry part..
especially in terms of operating those gas chromatography and HPLC machine.

For salmonella,

XLD--- Pink colonies with or without black centers. Many cultures of Salmonella may produce colonies with large, glossy black centers or may appear as almost completely black colonies.

BS agar-- black colonies; sometimes they have a metallic sheen. Surrounding medium is usually brown at first, but may turn black in time with increased incubation, producing the so-called halo effect.

HE agar--- Blue-green to blue colonies with or without black centers. Many cultures of Salmonella may produce colonies with large, glossy black centers or may appear as almost completely black colonies.

ok.. i have did some streaking in the TSI, LIA agar slant and stabbing of butt on the agar slant for the salmonella.. lols.. To test for vibrio cholerae, a loop of the surface pellicle of APW culture and transferred to the TCBS agar for streaking. I have done streaking using the suspected culture on the Arginine glucose slant (AGS) and stabbing the butt. And the salt test as well as the oxidase test for the Vibrio.

Sound chim? lols. the pathogen lab involved more on the streaking of plate, using of PCR, ABex, etc... lols.. I also helpout in the first lab.. cause chee meng was on mc tdy.. lols..

lots of stuff to do tdy.. haha.. tired.. but today is also the innovation day.. lols.. saw a lots of booth and games on going.. AND FOODS!!! haha.. Ms Ho asked all of us to go down to eat.. haha.. First day of attachment.. I am super afraid.. scared and STRESS
ok.. early in the morning, i took cab ..
well, most taxi driver dont know how to go perahu road..
so 2 cab rejected to drive me there.. =(
wait and wait.. and it is almost 8am already... so the next cab.. I just told him i was in rush of time.. ..and i asked him to try to drop me off somewhere around lim chu kang area. lols.. he asked me 'where is perahu road??' lols.. and give me his street directory.. to find map for him.. think he turn circles and circles.. tt why my cab fare today is super expensive.. then when i reach.. i was being brief and informed tt i will be attached to micro lab for 10 march until 25 april.. and then from 28 april i will be in the pesticides resicides department.. haha.. I think tt it is a good opportunity for me to be able to try out both of the department =) at least i dun have to do repeated stuff daily.. lols..
ok.. there was also a other attachment students from NUS, NP and SP tt have been working for some times in the micro lab.. at least one week before me or so.. lols..
ok basically my job scope is do microbiological food testing..
At first, i was told to count colonies.. zzz.. counting colonies is realli boring.. lols..
especially when using machine.. labelling of plate is also boring.. lols..
i get to spread plates, prepare camphylobacter media.. haha.. now they i know how to prepare media.. nid supplements.. and all those other ingredient..
and i also get to test all those food samples.. like fishball, meat, tuna, etc...
it's quite fun there ba.. firstly we did the dilution.. lols..
learning how to use machines and other equipment to pour buffer phosphate in to the bags.. to weight the bags.. to stomachakle the bag.. then using pipette to place in various agar.. and do spread plate.. lols.. but i am quite stress.. cause all those other attachment student did very well... lols.. of cuz.. we completed all our plating at 4 plus.. and start to sit there to chat while waiting for time to pass.. lols.. cause e bus will only arrive at 6.. lols.. ok.. i reached home around 7plus.. tired.. totally no mood to quarrel with somebodys

coming to the end of my 1 week holiday.. lols..

I guess i have spent most of the time sleeping, mapling and going out..

simply lazy and slacking during this 1week

the more i slept, the more tired i am

The exam are finally over.. XD

All the exam papers are totally a nightmare for me...

Memorise.. memorise.. memorise.... ROARS!!!!!!

I know how badly i have done..

But there is no use.... what done cannot be undone..

I cant reverse back the time..

Anyway, there is still 1 week of holidays to enjoy..

followed by, the start of my attachment on 10 march

The time is always so short and yet, there is so many things that i wanted to do~~

sad to say. holiday have ended. it's so fast.
First day of sch= super boring.
Have to attend make up lect.
well, the new lab is finally available to use. lols.
the facilities there is definetely much better.
still rmb the first time when i went into the food lab.
omg. there was only 2 weighing balance available for us to use!!
27 people share 2 weighing balance. lols.
that why all those pract took us so long.
Need to queue up to weight the ingredients in the pract.
lols. the new lab facilities is much better =)
But it seems to be more troublesome for us in a certain way.
lols. first day of lesson. I sld said tt i am sotong 3rd generation. lols
I am very very blur today.
forgot to bring alot of stuff to sch tdy.
lols. i didnt even bring my pencil case.
well, lesson still remain as bored as usual.
make me feel like sleeping
especially when it comes to project and reports.

It is 1am plus now.
I have just reached home.
I am feeling abit giddy now..
maybe after drinking.. zzz
And now..
I am damn frustrated with my hp.
This was definitely not the first time my phone have been giving me such problem
It is spoilt.
The phone have been sent to repair around one month ago.
And now..
It has become worst.
I simply can’t stand my phone for giving me such problems.
Keep having card registerattion failed, etc.
And I cant even switch on my phone now.
haiz.. thinking of the long queue~
I am damn lazy to go repair my phone again.
forget it..

I begin to feel very tired although it was the first week of school. Lesson start from 9am to 6pm for both mon and tues. It seems that there are tons of tut and project to do~~~~ most of them seems to be so hardworking although it was only the beginning of a new semester.. haha.. think because most of us did badly last sems ba.. But it's okay. I still feel quite good and happy. =P lols. I will rather keep myself fully occupied than to do all those boring stuff and keep thinking of silly things. Lols..

finally, I have watched finish huan huan ai.. ^^ I have been watching this drama during my holidays. trying to kill off time.. rather than just simply mapling everyday.. Lols.. E ending is quite touching =P LOL.. I wanna watch gong zu xiao mei!!! But I dont think I dont have the time.. But its ok.. next time then watch =X coz I have already watched the prewiew already... nice =)

It have been quite sometimes since i update this blog. Basically i m just lazy~~ lols.. holiday is ending.. and i juz saw my new timetable... omg.. it damn suxy.. cant imagine of me having lesson from 9am until 6pm.. even worst.. 7 modules again.. time to study hard le.. hope tt things will be better this time.. =)

yea~~ this is definetely not my first time blogging. I have decided to create another blog coz i simply feel that there have been too many people reading my blog post. Hence, it maybe quit difficult for me to post what i really feel deep inside my heart and what i wanted. =X so I will only let some of my closer friend to know about this blog link. ok.. let me summarise what i have done over the weekend.
20/7/07
I am doing my poster for the food presentation on next tues. It was quite rush for us to do the poster coz our last trial end on friday and we havent confirm our final product.
21/7/07
I am still doing the poster in the morning as I find the poster quite wordy.. lol.. suppose to zak for my maple didi tdy.. But coz there was no more zak slot. so I continue on doing poster. Then, I went to meet my dear at vivo to watch movie ' broken english'. The movie is damn boring.. lol.. Then, we went to join pama they all at esplanade to watch firwork. haiz.. It another long story for whatever happen next.. =X

went out with my sis tdy to buy shoes and her new samsung mp3. I have also brough a new imagition thumb drive 2gb for 30 dollar. =D tired.. I despertely nid to rest
